The Fab Chick Preview: Nine West Spring 2011 Collection

Last week I had the pleasure of going to the Nine West showroom to preview their Spring 2011 collection. Yes, you read that correctly, I said Spring 2011.

I know, I know, we are still in the midst of Spring/Summer 2010 while gearing up to transition into Fall 2010. In less than a month we’ll be viewing Spring 2011 RTW collections from all of our favorite designers.

This only means, it’s time to take those mental notebooks out in order for Spring 2011 preparation.

Nine West is a great brand that constantly provides Fab Chicks on a budget with affordable and fashion forward footwear. This Spring 2011 collection proves to be no different. Creative Director Fred Allard and his team have been steadily working hard to bring fab styles to our feet.
While noticing an abundance of wedged styles, it’s safe to say we’ll still be wedging it for Spring 2011. I loved what I call, the Nine West classic peep toe pump styles that were in cool fabrications of suede and what appeared to be mohair. Definitely fab!
And the handbag styles, colors and silhouettes were all great. Check out this rhinestone embellished clutch in a bright red orange color.I. Must. Have. It! Dear Fred Allard, please don’t edit this bag out the line. Thank you.



The basic mood and inspiration of the four different lines that make up the Spring 2011 collection are:

Mineral Approach – A utility chic collection filled with a dusky palette, crafty macramé, polished wood bottoms and hand stitched detailing.

Mesa Mirage – A desert inspired collection with warm spice tones, stripes, vachetta leathers, natural wood platforms, cork, jute & raffia.

Artificial Nature – A super charge collection of brights, tie-dyes, juicy jewels, and cool color combinations.

Powder Puff – A collection filled with punchy and pretty hues, deconstructed flowers, crochet, and crystal embellishments depicting the new femme fatale.I also got to check out the Spring 2011 collection for Nine West’s new Vintage America Collection. Again, lots of wedged and espadrille styles in different fabrics and colors. There were lots of great casual footwear options.






I left the office with many mental notes of styles that I loved. Here's a hint of which ones I loved the most; I'm holding them in the above pictures. But, there were so many great styles overall.
