Color me Crazy
Add a Splash for Fall

Splash some color into your life and add a few brights.

The cold weather rolls around and wardrobes usually get dark, dreary, and slightly boring. Closets tend to get filled with garments of black, brown and burgundy hues, colors synonymous with fall/winter. With so many color options for the cold weather season in clothing these days, there's no reason not to add a little warmth to your fall wardrobe. And we're not talking about adding a sweater.

Fall 09 runways showed that wardrobes don't have to be filled with your usual dark and drab hues. The runways showed us some great usage of color. Some bright colors that were promenent and are a big trend going forward this fall are: crimson, purple, honey yellow, orange/melon, warm olive, teal blue. All these colors come in a variety of shades for you to play up your skin tone and personal preferences. With different shades available you don't have to feel limited or forced to be fashion forward with a shade you don't like. Check out a few shots from the Fall 09 runways.

"Whip It" Movie Premiere
The Red Carpet Looks

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Last night was the premiere of "Whip It" at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Check out a few looks and commentary of what we liked and disliked on the red, well actually the carpet. Some played it a little more casual then others, but a few fab looks nonetheless.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Drew Barrymore
Drew Barrymore looks great in this black sleek leather sleeveless sheath dress. The fit is perfect. The stalk contrast of the red satin pumps keeps the outfit playful. Our favorite part of this look is the red center back exposed zipper. Very edgy. And she kept her make up simple which was a great choice, but we would have loved a subtle smokey eye just to take the look up a notch.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Eve
We love Eve's look. From her make-up, to her dress, she looks great. Loving the puff shoulders and the color choice of the dress. The princess lines on the bodice create a flattering and feminine shape, showing off her curves tastefully. The hair is just ok for us with this look.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Serena Williams
Serena's gold sequins top plays up a classic black suit in a fun and chic way. The gold top takes her look out of boredom for a bit. Not completely in love with the pant silhouette. The capri length is 'eh' for us. Overall, the look isn't 100% FAB, but it's chic and we get it.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Juliette Lewis
Juliette is definitely a fashion risk taker for this look. She's not quite Lady GaGa status, but this we must say went there a tiny bit. Although we love that she's take fashion risks, we don't like the overall look for her. The red and black lace overlay gloves were way too much for this look. Separately we love all the components of this look, together this look a tab messy for us.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Krysten Ritter
This look exemplifies a great way to play up a casual t-shirt. The pencil skirt is very sexy. Krysten's shoe and bag combo are right on. We love the cheetah print clutch and the printed peep toe shoes! The red lips seals this look nicely.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Ellen Page
Two word describes this look. Cute and edgy. We love the cut out booties with this mini dress. The studded clutch is perfect with this ensemble. The silver detailing along with the silver layered chain necklace breaks up this all black look well. Simple and chic.

Shenae Grimes
This dress is very cute. Shenae went with what we like to call a new age Mary Jane pump. The shoe was a cool choice without looking too school girl-ish. The double strapping on the shoe create a uniformity with the horizontal strips in her black and cream dress, which we love !

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Stephanie Jacobsen
This look is cute and simple, perfect for hanging out or shopping. We feel this a bit too casual for the event. Stephanie could have took the look up a notch by swapping the shorts for maybe a mini. This would still offer the comfort it looks like she was going for. We love the shoes!!

Make your pout stand out:
Pick your shade

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Want to make your pout stand out?

A great way to achieve that is with a red lip. There is something about red lips on women that command attention and oozes irresistible femininity. It screams sexy, and powerful in one shot. The downfall, unfortunately red lips are not always easily achieved. Many women are afraid to go as bold as a red because of the difficulty that can arise in pulling it off.

The problem: wearing the wrong shade, or overdoing it with a full made up face. The result, a ‘bozo the clown’ look. Not FAB! But don’t fret ladies. The next time you are face to face with a fiery lip color just keep in mind that ANYONE can pull off the slick look of a red lip. Our guest FabChick Lena Lo wants you to remember these simple tips to making your pout stand out! For all of the RIGHT reasons.

Consider the best options for your complexion.

Dark Skin = Crimson, Red Wines Hues
Why it works: The deep red tones accentuates the fullness of the lip against a dark complexion.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Serena Williams

Medium Skin = Corals, Orangy Red Hues
Why it works: Medium skin women have warm undertones which compliments the tropical feel of a coral-red.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Rihanna

Fair Skin= Pink Tinted Red, Rose Red Hues
Why it works: Rosey red lips on fair skin women enhances their delicate features, not overpowering them.

Gwen Stefani

Still afraid to go bold? Try using a true red and blotting if necessary. Or consider a sheer red tint if using a true red is not for you. There are also great glosses that will give you the same results without an overpowering look. Tints and glosses are a safe way to play up the trend while giving your look some oomph.

The key to pulling off a bright and bold pucker is to pair your red kissers with a neutral eye and subdued blush. Keep eye make up to a minimum and cheeks their natural color. The important thing to use a shade that works for you. We recommend visiting your favorite make-up counter to get paired with the correct shade of red. Sephora is a great beauty place to go and just try different shades out.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
No matter what shade or intensity of red you wear, be sure to flash those pearly whites. Red stained lips give off the illusion of whiter teeth. So lastly, be bold and smile!

Running on Empty?

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Can’t make it to work on time? Feeling extra tried?

You’ve been pulling 50-HOUR weeks, and your BlackBerry is filled with events, which you must grace with your presence, but you are thinking, you may need to skip out on most of these events to catch up on some much needed rest.

You go to bed early to make sure you're getting your recommended 7-8 hours of sleep, so you'll wake up feeling refreshed and energized. But, alas, you still feel extremely fatigue and tired during the day. You begin to wonder: What is going on, why am I so tired? Do I possibly need more than 8 hours of sleep? Should I start taking vitamins or change up my current vitamin regimen? Do I need to increase my Starbucks runs from two to four times a day?

Whether they have children or not, women on the go typically have a full day of activities. And if you are a FAB Chick, well, we know you have a multitude of things going on in your life, making you susceptible to feeling weary. But you don’t have to be tired. You can gain control of your life and win the battle over exhaustion.

Here are some FAB tips to help boost your energy:

Control Your Diet: (Are you eating the right foods to supply your body energy?)
·Drink plenty of water
·Reduce you caffeine intake
·Eat breakfast
·Don’t skip meals
·Don’t crash diet
·Eat a healthy diet
·Don’t overeat
·Eat iron rich foods "women in particular, are prone to iron-deficiency (Anemia)."
Better Sleep Patterns:
·Get enough sleep
·No caffeine a few hours before bed
·Learn how to relax before trying to sleep
·Avoid sleeping pills
Change your lifestyle:
·Don’t smoke
·Increase physical activity
·Have more fun
·Learn to do nothing and relax
·Decrease stress levels
·Seek therapy; or confide in someone
These are a few easy tips you can follow to help rejuvenate yourself. And if after doing all these things, you still feel a sense of weariness and suffer from low energy, it might be time to schedule an appointment with your medical doctor. There may be other underlying medical issues that you may need to deal with.

We all know when you are not feeling your best, you can’t look your best. And a FAB Chick should not only look great, but she has to feel great as well. Remember, it's very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle to stay FAB inside and out!

Hopefully these tips will help!

Hip Hop Honors Red Carpet

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Tonight is the Vh1 Hip Hop Honors Award show which is being held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Check out a few looks from the Red Carpet. Eve being one of our favorites for keeping her look simple and chic. We love the pop of color with the yellow and black clutch used to accent her all back outfit. Ashanti and Foxy Brown were both our least favorites for different reasons. We don't care for Ashanti's look because although very fitting for the occasion, it doesn't look organic to us. And well Foxy, she could have skipped on the exaggerated lashes and the red leather half gloves. The gloves don't quite flow with the rest of outfit. Just a little too extra, but hey that's Foxy right?
