Trend Alert: One Shoulder Necklines
Blow kisses over that bare shoulder

Big on the runways of Fall 09 and Spring 2010 were one shoulder or asymmetrical necklines. Dresses and tops were popping up everywhere in designers' collections like Micheal Kors, Donna Karan, and Lela Rose just to name a few. This subtle but sexy silhouette is a great way to show a little skin if you are not totally confortable with showing any other body part. A shoulder can never to be too fat or too skinny. The one shoulder neckline screams, look at me, I'm sexy and seductive but not slutty. Far from being a new trend, it's defintely one that has returned for fashion lovers for this season as well as for Spring 2010.
We love Actress Kaley Cuoco's cobalt one shoulder piece. It's definitely a sweet and sexy look for her.
Kim Kardashian loves this trend. She's definitely a repeat offender of the one shoulder neckline.
Here are a few other Fab chicks donning the one shoulder trend.

Runway Looks

Fall 2009: Gucci, Jill Sander, Micheal Kors, Calvin Klien

Spring 2010: Jason Wu, L.A.M.B., Emilio Pucci, Requiem

So for your next photo opt, be Fab in a one shoulder neckline dress or top and give the cameraman that hollywood glance over the shoulder for your glamour shot while blowing kisses. Check out some great options from conservative to attention grabbing looks.

The trend in tops:

Arden B $28, Top Shop $65, French Connection $128

Azzaro $1270, Diane von Furstenberg $345, Ashish $895

Well those that missed out will get another opportunity next year to partake in the festivities again. And those that were able to enjoy the night of Sept. 10, 2009 well, let's all do it all over!
“I think that when the partners planned the first one, it was pretty clear that it was going to be successful, but until we hit the streets that night, I don’t think we knew the extent of the success,” CFDA executive director Steven Kolb said. “As it went into the nights and days after, during fashion week, we talked to all the participants, and there wasn’t one person who didn’t immediately ask when we were going to do this again.” -WWD

We're definitely looking forward to her role in the critically acclaimed Precious, based on the novel “Push” by Sapphire”. Movie in theaters next month, November 6th. Tom Ford
Launching Women's Collection

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Aren't we excited about Tom Ford returning back to women's wear? The once Gucci head designer is getting ready to launch his Women's line. No exact date has been released as everything is still in the beginning stages, but there are talks that we could see something as early as 2010.
It's unclear if Ford's new womenswear line will come with stores of its very own. But if they do, they ought to be the antithesis of Tom Ford's men's stores, the bastion of all things fine and manly, from Scotch (or the liquor of your choice) to walking sticks to $9,240 fur boots to $990 jeans with real gold buttons. We're not quite sure what the ladies' version of that is, but we're imagining red velvet on the walls, embellished long cigarette holders, possibly hookahs, a walk-in vodka freezer, and denim shorts that show juuuuuust the right amount of ass cheek.

So Fab Chick keep your fingers crossed!

Fab Chick Trend Alert: Menswear Chic
Flat Oxford Shoes

One shoe trend that's trickling over into this fall season is the menswear inspired flat oxford shoe. We're taking everything out of our guy's closets, their jeans, and their blazers. And now we're drawing inpsiration from their shoes. For a day of running around, instead of a sneaker or a ballet flat, an oxford shoe can provide a little more of a polished look. Think english men.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
This season many shoe retailers have come out with great versions of the "man's shoe". There are a variety of hues, textures and styles available. Wingtips have been made to be cute, and ladylike dispite the manly origins. Instead of the classic black and white, they've gotten girlie with browns, pinks, and even metallics. Here are a few options at different price points.

Splurge:

(L to R): Esquivel Juliana $595, Maloles $455, Christian Louboutin $595

Moderate:

(L to R): Hassia $275, Pour La Victoire $226, J Crew $225

Steal:

(L to R): Jeffrey Campbell $109, Joy & Alexandre Herchovitch $100, Steve Madden $99.95

The key to pulling of the oxford flat works the same as any other menswear inspired look. It's best to keep the rest of you look feminine. It's always safe to not go full on menswear if you aren't sure. So try those boyfriend shoes one for size.
