Fab Chick Trend Alert: Pre-Fall 2010 Collections
"Dress in All Black"

The fashion world is gearing up for NYFW's (New York Fashion Week) debut of Fall 2010 collections in a matter of weeks. As designers take center stage in one of the biggest fashion platforms to showcase what has been forecast for the next Fall season, we are taking notes of all the great looks that Fab Chicks will want to add to their closets. But until then, let's check out a trend we're seeing that has shown up in a couple Pre-Fall 2010 collections.

Our focus this time around, the continuing of the "all black everything" trend made popular by Jay-Z since the release of his single "Run this town".
"All black everything, Black cards, black cars, All black everything"
Black is a color that has never completely been out of style nor will it ever depart as the go to color. Every season there seems to be a 'new black'. Regardless of the color takeover, black has and will always rein supreme amongst fab chicks.
"Dress in all black like the omen." -Lil Kim "It's all about The Benjamins"
It is a color synonymous with mystery and utter chic-ness. It's such a basic and effortless color that it recreates itself every time. You can't go too wrong with "all black everything".  It's definitely a favorite amongst New Yorkers and Fab Chicks alike.

Check out a few more Pre-Fall 2010 collections and their "all black everything" looks.

Fab Chick: Wardrobe Must Have
The Trench Coat

The Trench Coat is back! Ok, honestly it never really went anywhere. Season after season we are seeing the classic style "rain" coat reinvented and reincarnated into something better than the last creation.  We're seeing different colors, lengths, and fabrications.   Designers have taken the traditional raincoat and put their unique imprints on the Burberry and Aquascutum creation.

Take the above Burberry trench created for Colette. It's basic in color, but the detailing offers a surprising twist that we just love!  The gold studs strategically placed on the back collar is ingenious.

Wouldn't you want to wear this with the collar flipped all the time? We would and we know a few other Fab Chicks would as well.   Thanks Pristina. It's definitely a great creation.
Although we've love how the trench coat has evolved a bit, nothing beats the original.  A trench coat is an essential piece that every Fab Chick should have in her closet. It's a wardrobe must have! The style is versatile enough allowing for easy wear with many different looks. It can be dressed down or up, and transitions very well between seasons.

If a plain beige trench isn't for you, then go with something in a print or color. There are many non-traditional options out there to choose from.

So if you have yet to add a trench coat to your wardrobe, you might want to make that investment. You will have it for years to come.

Many designers have debuted various trench coat styles in their Spring 2010 collections. Check out a few here.

Fab Chick: It's Cold Outside!
Our Fab Winter Essentials

Resort collections are hitting stores now, and we're all dreaming about sandy beaches, wearing cute sundresses and drinking frozen margaritas. But our reality is -5 degree wind-chills, freezing rain, cleaning snow off cars, holding on for dear life while walking on iced filled sidewalks and quickly heading to Starbucks for tall white chocolate mochas. Winter is definitely in full swing. Great. Not. Well since mother nature is in charge and we can't control her, we might as well adjust to the chill that she's put in the air. It'll be here for a few more months.

What better way to adjust than to dress appropriately. As Fab Chicks, we must adapt and keep it moving while looking FAB. So we decided to give you a few winter essentials you should have by now. If you don't, not to worry, there's still opportunity. You can still find many of the stores selling fall/winter items on sale now. Which is a plus for all you late shoppers. Who doesn't love a sale anyway?

Fab Chick Trend Alert: Go Green!!!
Pre-Fall 2010 Color Trend

Looks like designers are going "Green" for Pre-fall 2010. Not only are fabrics becoming eco-friendly, but so are colors. OK, maybe not quite in the same sense of the 'save the planet' kind of movement, but you get the idea. What we're referring to are the strong usages of a greenish palette. Muted versions of the shade, olive to be exact, are sprouting up in 2010 Pre-Fall collections from Donna Karen, J. Mendel, and Tory Burch just to name a few.

Donna Karen
When paired down, green shades are usually great for Fall. As a member of the earth tone family, it's an easy shade to mix and match with other popular fall shades like black, gray, and brown for a tiny pop of color. Green hues, like olive are great for those of you Fab Chicks who are scared of vibrate shades and need to add some color to your fall wardrobes.

Will you be "going green"? Check out a few more Pre-Fall 2010 collections going green.
