Now that the "Royal Wedding" is over and we know that Kate Middleton chose to wear the Sarah Burton Alexander McQueen creation for her fairy tale day, we can get to more important matters. Since there's no fantasy wedding to prince charming in my near future, I'll dream of a few fab royal blue items to add to my closet. Why not right?

Did you watch the wedding? Did you even care?

I Asked: Just Say No...to Wedges?

As I sat on the train glancing at my wedges I began to wonder what was it about this style of shoe that men didn't like. I mean, I love all my pairs. I just didn’t understand. What’s there not to like?

Every female I know loves a fab pair of wedges. They give us the comfort we need while giving us the height we love. Especially those of us not blessed with having long legs.

So I decided to randomly ask a few guys I know why didn't they like wedged shoes. I consider them all dope in different ways, so I was curious what they’re responses would be. Here goes.

Orlando says: They look like fake heels. There’s nothing sexy about them. The point of a woman’s heel is sexy; the wedge doesn't offer that visual at all.

Jason says: They’re ugly period. There are no such things as dope wedges.

Dre says: The shoes? They look weird on a woman’s foot. The shoe is just too bulky if you know what I mean. I’ve yet to see a dope pair. Maybe, but to me I’d never like them.

Mougabe says: It just compromises that classic feminine appeal. It looks like yall wearing big a** bricks on your feet. I know they are WAY more comfy than heels but f*ck that. Looking sexy to your fullest potential should always be painful. **laughs**

Justin says: They’re not the most attractive shoes.

Shydel says: Wedges are a cop out! If you going to wear a shoe with a heel, it needs to be skinny and high! Case closed. Part of the appeal and the sexiness of a heel is to watch a woman walk and teeter in them with confidence and swagger. You don’t get that in a wedge. Anybody can walk in that. **laughs**

I asked a few others and the consensus stand. They didn’t like them and they were just plain hideous. Hell, even my father isn’t a big fan of them.

Ugh! Ouch! Ah man!

But I did hear from ONE guy who approved of wedge styles.

Ahyende says: I think they are hot. I like seeing them. They are sexy. And it depends on the look.

So ladies would you consider not wearing wedges because you knew most men didn’t find them attractive? Do you consider your shoe options when you’re dating a guy? What if he hates your shoes, would you suffer in pain wearing a particular style for your date, boyfriend, husband, etc.?

PS: Guess who'll still be wearing "bricks" on their feet all spring/summer season? Hmph!

Misha Files: 5 Things I did this weekend

1. Watched the Boston Celtics sweep the New York Knicks like I knew they would. I love it when I'm right. And yes, I'm a basketball watching chick.

2. Reread issues of the now defunct Suede Magazine. Remember them?  Pristina of XBubble reminded me of how cool the magazine was. Good thing I'm a hoarder and keep old magazines. I'm working on the hoarding part of my life. Eeek.
Suede Magazine
3. Attended a Lupe Fiasco concert at the Roseland Ballroom on Sunday. Good show, great company. Fun times.
Lupe Fiasco at Roseland Ballroom
4. Listened to a few Dee Dee Sharp records with my dad. I knew of a few of the songs we listened to but I didn't know who sang them.  I can always count on my dad to introduce me to music/artists of the past that I can appreciate.
5. Redid my Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Electric Shock, a neon yellow.
How was your weekend? Did you discover anything new? Do anything fun?

Take Two: Sally Hansen Salon Effects

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips
After hearing rave reviews about Sally Hansen’s Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips, I decided to try my hand at applying them. My color of choice, 'It Girl', a bright neon pink. Guess what? I failed. And I hated them. I applied as instructed and in as little as five minutes my nails began to chip like crazy. Ugh. So disappointing.
I vowed not to try Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips again. I figured I'd just stick to my regular polished manicures with the long drying time. But after some advisement from friend and writer Annika, who also test drove the Sally Hansen Polish strips here and loved them, I decided to try them again. It's just to easy to apply for me to not try again. Color of choice this time around was 'Teal With It'. And guess what? I passed. And I dig them!

If at first you don’t succeed, why not try, try again right? Have you tried them yet?

Event: Hudson Jeans Spring/Summer 2011 Preview

Hudson Jean’s Spring 2011 preview this week has confirmed my love for ‘brightly hued’ denim and 70’s style flares.

Hudson Jeans Spring Preview
Many of the spring styles have a lightweight feel and possess an already broken-in quality we all have come to love about our jeans. I loved this light washed wide-leg jean. Perfect for spring.
Hudson Jeans Spring Preview
When asked about the inspiration behind the spring line, Hudson’s Creative Director Ben Taverniti explained that he wanted to embody an “exclusive vacation” feel where the collection could be worn everywhere in the world by any type of girl. I would have to say Taverniti achieved just that. The collection has an easy, pack and go attribute.
Hudson Jeans Spring Preview
The joint effort between Taverniti and the brand's face, Georgia May Jagger for ‘Hudson by Georgia May’ gives the popular skinny jean a few edgy twists. With side seam zippers and laces up the entire length of the leg, the line definitely embodies a rock ‘n roll chic aesthetic you would expect from the daughter of a rock n’ roller.

I definitely need to get my hands on a pair of the white skinnies with the laces up the back of the leg. Sexy.

The natural mineral makeup line created by Dexter Phillip to help women “embrace their true beauty while recognizing the importance of healthy skin” is filled with vibrant mineral eye shadows and bold lip colors for this Spring/Summer.
DEX New York
As I was introduced to the Dex’s Spring/Summer line I quickly became infatuated with the cosmetics’ creator and products. While discussing the versatility of some of the items in the line, I appreciated the multi-functional abilities of many of the products.

With the help of Dexter Phillip and Emmy Award winning makeup artist Kevin James Bennett, I was shown how to add Dex’s loose mineral pigment eyeshadow in Lincoln Center Bronze on the apples of my cheeks for a soft bronze look. Loved it! And. I. Need it!

I’m obsessed with fuchsia lips for spring. I took my obsession, jumped into the chair and begged the make-up artist to give me bold, fuchsia lips.

Fab Gift Idea: Joelle by Marc Joseph
Plus a Giveway!!!

Joelle by Marc Joseph
At first site of Joelle by Marc Joseph’s sterling silver pieces, I immediately thought to myself that these would make great gifts. After discussing a few of the items with a dear friend it came to me, these would make perfect Mother’s Day gifts items. They're cute without lacking sophistication that moms tend to have.

Mother’s day will be arriving soon. Before you know it, we all will be scrambling and looking for the perfect gifts to express just how we feel about our moms. For me, I always struggle with what to get the woman who has taken care of me, loved me unconditionally and been my best friend.
Joelle by Marc Joseph
Joelle by Marc Joseph’s “I heart U” stud earrings and other items are super cool for giving mom and sending that ‘I love you’ message.
Joelle by Marc Joseph
Also, their heart shape pendants engraved with the Joelle ‘BFF’ design is a fun way to celebrate a best friend relationship between a mother and daughter. Or you could just give it to your 'main ace', 'road dog', 'girlfriend' or 'ride or die' chick for being that Fab Chick in your life. Don’t you think?

Well if you said yes, you’re going to love this. Joelle by Marc Joseph and TheFabChick will be giving away a set of the ‘BFF’ heart shape pendants to one of you. The pendent and chain retails for $176, sterling silver at it's best! Here’s what you have to do:

1. ‘Like’ TheFabChick facebook page or follow on twitter @thefabchick

2. Follow Joelle by Marc Joseph, @joellebymj on twitter

3. Leave a comment here letting me know if you are going to gift the pendent to your BFF or your mom and why.

You have until April 12th to get your entries in, as the winner will be chosen April 13th.

Good luck!
