Fab Randomness: 4.5" inches of comfort!
Pour La Victoire Lace-Up Boots

I've recently purchase a pair of Pour La Victoire Lace-Up Flannel & Leather Ankle Boots. At first site of these I knew they would work perfectly into my wardrobe.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
The style fits great with my military inspired obsession this season, not to mention I have a love affair for shoes and boots with laces. Revisit that obsession here and here.

Since adding them to my closet of shoes, I have not taken them off. They $300 worth of comfort to my feet while giving my 5'4" inch frame that height I love.
These might just become my everyday shoe! And just like I twittered this morning, who needs a pair of Sketcher Step-ups when there are these?

Newness: Hellz Bellz Holiday Collection
"Culture Vultures"

Fashion alternative brand Hellz Bellz introduces their Holiday 2010 collection appropriately titled, 'Culture Vultures'.

The collection is a collaborative effort with Choco Moo, an artist as well as avid Hellz Bellz fan.

While continuing to bring fab chicks the edge we often sometimes crave, creative director Misslawn shows us that fab chicks can do all things as she steps behind the camera to shoot the entire Holiday collection.  Get it girl!
As I make plans to paint the town black starting Black Friday night with my girls, I'm thinking I will use the 'Culture Vultures' Collection as wardrobe inspiration to channel my inner most edge the Misha way.

As one of the t-shirts in the collection says, "Good is Great But Bad is Better" and let's not forget, can be more fun. We'll see. Stay tuned to see just how it works out.

We were all given a choice of a mini cupcake from a selection by Baked By Melissa and twenty-five minutes to run through the store to create a holiday look inspired by the cupcake chosen. Well, before heading to the fitting room, I grabbed these pieces to create my version of a fab mint chocolate chip:

Sounds of Fashion: "One In A Million"
Lulu Guinness Coin Purse

Lulu Guinness One In a Million Purse
Have you ever seen a garment or fashion item and a song pops in your head? Immediately at first site of this Lulu Guinness nylon beaded embellished coin purse on My-Wardrobe.com, R&B star Ne-Yo's latest single, "One In a Million" bombarded my brain.
Lulu Guinness One In a Million Purse
It's girlie, cute and the pink lining is just charming? I guess the same could be said for Ne-Yo's song, it does have a bit of charm factor.

As the holidays quickly approach, the coin purse would make a perfect secret santa gift. I wouldn't mind getting one.  But at $80 a pop, you might want to kind of really like the person.

Stay tuned for more fab chick approved holiday gift options.

I'm Having...
Cream Cable-Vision

knit sweater
Clockwise: American Eagle $69.95, Topshop $100, Debenhams £36.00, Karen Millen $199

I love cream and off white in the winter, especially in knits and sweaters. It looks great with denim of all washes and is often perfect when paired with earth tones. Not limited to, but think this season's color trends of camel and army green.

As for the cable detailing, I love it. It's a cool knitting technique used to create a braid like or ribbed pattern. For me, it's helps make what could be a boring sweater have a bit of character.

Cheap Thrills: Only a Buck!

cheap_thrills
Who says you can't find cute things on the street? Yes, times are hard, but not to worry, I haven't resorted to picking through the trash.

On my way home yesterday I saw a table with women scavenging and hovering around. As I peeked over, I noticed a man selling costume jewelry for cheap, $1 to be exact. I thought to myself, eh, this stuff is sure to be some plastic crap I don't need mixing in with my good stuff or adding more clutter to my life.

As I sifted through the retro looking pieces, I actually found five fun pairs of earrings that caught my eye. For a dollar, why not? So, I bought them. I definitely will be wiping them down with alcohol. Hey, you never know.

You just got to love NYC and the street vendor fab-ness that's always around.

Top It Off with These Hat Styles This Winter

It is said that close to 40 percent of your body’s heat escapes through your head. Which means, a great way to retain your body’s heat and stay warm is to actually cover your head.

I actually used to hate wearing hats during the winter months. I was always concerned about having bad hat hair, or looking like a boy. With so many cute hat options, I love wearing a fab topper these days.

There’s no need to sacrifice your fab-ness to stay warm.

Whether a knit beanie, wool cloche, or a fun fur Elmer Fudd hat, sometimes called a trapper, stay warm while maintaining your fab factor with these cute options.

Have you visited your OB-GYN lately?
Ugh! I did.

When was the last time you’ve paid your gynecologist a visit?

For me it was this morning.

I woke up with anxiety as I typically do whenever I have to pay any medical doctor a visit, especially my gynecologist.

There’s something unsettling about being in a dreary decorated room with temperatures always a bit on the cool side, while diagrams of fetuses and cervixes stare at me as I’m wearing an unflattering white crepe paper gown.

Despite the awkward feelings, I do understand the importance of subjecting myself to being in that room. Routine gynecological exams are vital to women’s health. Pap smears must be done to check the cervix for abnormalities, and for early detection of any problems.

Can't you just see the uneasiness in my face? And yes, this time around I kept my jacket & scarf on! LOL!

Knowing is always the first step and half the battle.

Yes it can be a tiny bit unpleasant, annoying, even a bit embarrassing sometimes, but it’s necessary.

So to combat the weirdness and uncomfortable feelings I always have a friend on stand-by to text and keep me at ease. I also like to strike up conversation with my doctor for a good distraction as well.

A good diversion always helps an uneasy experience be less difficult to go through.

Today the distraction of choice was an impromptu photo session with myself, by myself. How about that for fun and distraction?
Photobucket
It’s definitely fab to be proactive about your health.

Have you had you cervix checked lately? Are you just as uneasy as I am about going for your routine exams? What do you do to help with the anxiety?

Last Year's Infatuation...
This Year's Love Addiction...

Don’t you just love when some of your favorite trends from the previous year spill over into the current year? I do. Especially when you’ve stocked your closet with a few of them.

Last year I was with much of the population and had an infatuation for the fur vest trend. Remember? Refresh your memory here. I even went out and bought a couple. My favorite, a black Zara number.

This year I can say my faux fur vest infatuation has turned into a full on love affair. It actually made it as one of my top fall favorites. If you missed the count down, check it out here.

Usually when it’s cold and I’m hopping in and out of the car, I layer my vest over a thin leather jacket or a very heavy knit sweater. But Saturday’s 60’s degree weather proved perfect for me to wear one of last year's faux fur vests without all the added layers.

Love it when I can revisit an old trend and of course I love a warm fall day!

LEVI’S® SPRING 2011 PREVIEW
MEN’S + WOMEN’S COLLECTIONS

Photobucket
Last night was damp, cold and just miserable out, but it didn’t stop me from heading downtown to the LEVI’S® Photography Workshop space to preview their Spring 2011 Men’s and Women’s collection. As a lover of my Levi’s Curve ID denims, I was excited to see what was in store for the next spring season.

First, the space was awesome. If you haven’t been there and are a lover of photography, you need to get there ASAP! Check here for more information about the Photography Workshop.
LevisSpring2011
Second, the models were yummy. Tell me he's not delicious looking? And he was the sweetest!
LevisSpring2011
Third, the Bols Genever Lemon cocktails were amazing and served with metal straws. Nice! Hip! Loved it, except the constant clinking of metal on my teeth. Clumsy much? I’d say yes.
LevisSpring2011LevisSpring2011
Third, the live performance by The Duke Spirit had my neck whipping back and forth. They rocked out and I loved it.
LevisSpring2011
And last but definitely not least, the collection was a cool mix of easy, wearable, casual separates that just made me cry for spring all over again. Spring, come back to me! NOW!
LevisSpring2011LevisSpring2011
Here’s my favorite piece from the preview.
LevisSpring2011
I loved these chambray pants. The model and I both raved about them. I could definitely see them fitting into my wardrobe quite well. Don’t you think? Say yes, because I will be buying them when they hit stores next year.

Another favorite of mine was this yellow knit sweater. Everything from the color, the bulk and weight of the yarn and the slouchy silhouette screams Misha! I'm already imagining wearing this in so many different ways.
LevisSpring2011

Here are a few other pieces from the women’s collection I loved and deemed fab chick approved.
