Fab Chick: The 411 on Spring Trends
Who's Ready?

Spring comes around and the average person is thinking green grass, blooming flowers, longer days and warm temperatures perfect for picnics in the park. Meanwhile, the fab chick is anticipating new clothes, shorter hemlines without tights, open toe shoes and sandals to die for, and of course, dewy skin to match.

Yes, it’s time to get our Spring wardrobe checklists out ladies. In a matter of weeks, Spring will be here! Aren't you guys excited?

Let’s face it, everyone is fed up with the brutal winter we’ve been facing, so we’re ready to jump right into the Spring mood.

Who’s with me? Let’s get our Spring ensembles in tip-top shape so we can look our best while strutting around the city.

Ready? Get your notebook and pens out. Time to take some notes.

This season, there are a few keys words to keep in mind when outfitting your closet: Safari, Tribal, Romance, Neutrals and Prints just to name a few. Putting these words to memory while shopping will keep your Spring wardrobes right on target this year.

Color is usually what everyone thinks when the weather starts to warm up. We say, continue to think color, but for this season try softening the palette just a bit with pastel shades.

Pastels made a hugh splash on Spring 2010 runways. So for this season it’s all about soft hues. Get a little peachy or try a little champagne, it’ll scream pretty and cute. And if pretty and cute isn’t your thing, you’re sure to get some elegance out of this trend.

This year we’re seeing lots of neutral palettes. Drawing from the safari jungle, khaki, nude and earth tones have all been the craze. With utilitarian inspirations, the safari gets a chic twist this season.

Keeping in lines with the safari look, runways have kept with the outback vibe and gone tribal. We’re seeing the earth tones of the safari mixed with tribal prints of ikat and batik in warm and vibrant hues from India, Indonesia and Africa. This trend is a great way to stand out and let your presence be known in the wild fashion jungle we all love.

As we mentioned in our previous post, why not get printed! Prints are huge this Spring. In addition to the tribal inspirations, polka dots, graphic and digital prints, and the usual Spring favorite; florals have shown up everywhere for the big warm up. We say, be bold and mix prints strategically like our favorite looks from the runways.

Fab Chick tip: Be sure to keep your print sizes in proportion to your body shape. You don’t want to emphasize areas you don’t want to be focal points.

Let’s get a little romantic, even sexy if you will. Lingerie inspired garments have graced the runways for Spring. So get in tuned with your inner exhibitionist and show a little skin through a shear top that resembles a camisole. We’re seeing lots of lace and silks.

Fab Chick tip: Always keep in mind that everything should be done in moderation and there’s a time and place for everything. As fab chicks, we should know not to walk into an interview in full boudoir attire. Let’s keep it classy ladies!

Luxury is always a trend for fab chicks. This season nothing changes. There’s luxury and opulence via ruffles, feathers, sequins and embroideries. So for this Spring why not go with something a little jazzy and full of splendor. Channel your inner socialite and walk the streets with a little extravagance.

Hope you guys took notes. Remember, Spring is only a few weeks away.

Let’s all say together…Hallelujah!
